Bernard Amsalem, President of French Federation

It is with much pleasure and pride that France is about to welcome the European Winter Throwing Cup in Arles, on March 20 & 21, 2010, for its 10th birthday!
Each year, this event allows the best European throwers to rise to the challenge of a high-level competition, while the summer season is still far off. It is also the opportunity to put some outstanding athletes in the spotlight for the benefit of the public at large.

Arles has a notorious past as far as athletics is concerned: for many years, the city has organized a renowned international multiple-event competition. I am sure that the audience will answer to the call and bring on a lively atmosphere!

Many thanks to the Organization Committee, the Provence League and its President André Giraud, as well as to the local authorities of the City of Arles, the Bouches-du-Rhône General Council and the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur Region for their valuable support.

Enjoy the competition! Hurrah for throwing!

This city, whose inhabitants are called Arlesians has indeed more than 2 500 years.
